Coupling Installation Unit is used to install the coupling onto the pipe whose ends are prepared in the Pipe End Preparation Unit.

The coupling produced in the Coupling Winding Unit is transferred to the CIU with the crane installed on top of the pressure unit of the CIU. The pipe reaches the unit through the pipe transport system and is rolled to the CUI on the transport system. At this instance the lifting units that are moved up are lowered to position the pipe in the CIU. With the coupling placed in the pressure unit, the pressure unit is driven forward hydraulically to install the coupling onto the pipe.
 

After the installation operation, the pipe with coupling is moved up with the lifting unit and rolled by hand to the transporter whereby it is carried away to the stockyard by a forklift.
